I just finished the first volume of Jeff Lemire’s sweet, touching graphic novel, “Essex County.”

I had a pretty normal childhood - little league, orange slices, TMNT, Pogs. I had friends and sporting events to attend.

But every once in awhile I would play by myself in the woods. This book made me feel like I was back there again.

Just my imagination… and maybe a stick for whacking things.
